Adult Musical Chairs - Pause adulting and start dancing with this interactive music experience. Grab a beer and your sense of humor for this funny, thought-provoking, enigmatic, and subversive evening.
How: Part-immersive concert, part-interactive game, Musical Chairs is a tournament-style game of musical chairs with live string orchestra—if you lose your seat, grab an instrument and become part of the band.
An hour-long performance, Musical Chairs can be a stand-alone event or in conjunction with programming by local arts, education, and community organizations.
Why: On average, only 4.1% of Americans attend a social event on an average weekend. Annually, only 3.3% of Americans attended a ballet concert, complaining that they are neither participatory nor social. Musical Chairs pairs two art forms often seen as elitist - ballet and classical music - with childhood games. By fusing the familiar and the absurd, passive and active engagement, and sensory and abstract concepts of expression, Musical Chairs invites players to think deeply, dance wildly, and laugh unabashedly.
